Tips
- Mix bleach into water — never water into a small amount of bleach — and always use cold water.
- Never use bleach on the same surface straight after an acid cleaner: rinse thoroughly in between.
Never mix with
- Evafresh Stain Remover or any acid, toilet descaler or vinegar — releases toxic chlorine gas
- Ammonia or ammonia-containing cleaners — releases toxic chloramine gas
- Any other cleaning product
Protect yourself
Always wear rubber (nitrile or PVC) gloves and eye protection (safety glasses or goggles). Wear old clothes or an apron. Work in a well-ventilated area.
First aid
- Eyes
- Rinse immediately with clean running water for at least 15 minutes, holding the eyelids open. Remove contact lenses if easy to do. Get medical help straight away.
- Skin
- Take off contaminated clothing immediately. Rinse the skin with plenty of water for at least 15 minutes. Get medical help for burns, pain or redness.
- Swallowed
- Rinse the mouth with water. Do NOT make the person vomit. If they can swallow, give a small glass of water to sip. Get medical help immediately and take the container or label with you.
- Breathed in
- Move to fresh air at once. If coughing or breathing difficulty occurs (for example after products were mixed), get medical help immediately.
Emergency: dial 112 or go to the nearest hospital. Take the container or label with you.
Handling
- Read the label before use and follow the directions.
- Keep the cap tightly closed when not in use.
- Do not mix with other cleaning products.
- Wash hands after use.
- Pour carefully to avoid splashes. Always add the product to water, never water to the product.
- Use in a well-ventilated area.
- Never transfer into drinks bottles or unlabelled containers.
Storage
- Store in the original, closed container, upright, in a cool, dry place out of direct sunlight (below 35 °C).
- Keep out of reach of children and pets, away from food and drink.
- Store locked up.
- Store away from acids and acid cleaners (e.g. Stain Remover, Ultra Cleaner). Heat and sunlight weaken bleach.
- Protect from freezing and do not store in hot vehicles.
Best used within 6 months of purchase — chlorine bleach slowly loses strength, faster in heat and sunlight.
Spills
- Keep children and pets away. Wear gloves.
- Dilute small spills with plenty of water and mop up. Keep acids away from the spill.
- Absorb large spills with sand or soil and collect in a plastic container. Ventilate the room.
Disposal
- Small household amounts: dilute with plenty of water and pour slowly down the toilet or drain.
- Large amounts or spills: do not pour into rivers, gutters or soil. Contact Evaclear or a licensed waste company for advice.
- Empty containers: rinse with water and recycle, or bring your empty 4.5 L and 25 L gallons back to Evaclear for a refill discount.
